Acne Treatment

When it comes to acne treatments, there are a variety of treatments that clients can try. At De Vries Cosmetic Center, we offer: microneedling, microdermabrasion, corrective facials, corrective peels, and IPL’s. Each of these procedures have benefits to managing or reversing the effects of acne. I offer these treatments because of their results and so my clients have a variety to choose from.

Microneedling

Microneedling is a procedure that is used to treat acne scars on the face. This treatment is a permanent route to get rid of the acne scarring. Acne scarring is caused the skin follicles becoming blocked by excessive oils and residual dead skin. This triggers an intense inflammatory response which and causes pits.

To correct this, a microneedling procedure can be used to reduce scarring. The procedure is performed by using a small machine filled with tiny needles to create little scratches. The scratches cause the face to go into healing mode. This spurs collagen creation, capillary growth, and causes the skin under the face to appear. Effectively, this erases the scars and reveals a smoother face.

Microneedling takes about 1-3 sessions for skin cell regeneration to take place. It is recommended however, that sessions are spaced 6-8 weeks apart.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is another treatment that is used by my office to treat acne. However, unlike some of the other treatments, it only treats mild to light acne. Only people who have mild acne scars, non-inflamed acne, or have oily skin should try this.

A special hand piece machine releases a controlled spray of fine crystals on the face to exfoliate. The crystals are then vacuum suctioned up at the same time with the dead skin cells. This procedure cleanses and opens the pores, encouraging skin renewal.

While you can’t scrub acne away, microdermabrasion keeps the face free of oils. This, combined with your daily routine will help keep your acne under control.

Corrective Facials

Corrective Facials are used to treat acne with a combination of different serums. Out my clinic, each facial is specially tailored to the client’s needs. This way they are getting their individual problem areas addressed and have the best possible outcome.

While the session may vary from person to person, typically they include an: anti-inflammatory, cleansing, and soothing lotions to keep the acne under control. To learn more about this type of facial, a consultation is recommended. At our office, we can properly assess your needs and give you the best treatment for you.

Corrective Peels

Corrective peels are also offered by our office to treat mild acne. The peels come in a variety of offerings for the client to choose from. There are: glycolic, lactic, mandelic, and various other acid peels. They come in two forms: light and deep peels which depend on which one would be right for you.

At De Vries Cosmetic Center, we carefully have our lead aesthetician evaluate each client beforehand. This way we can properly determine what is needed. In the case of deeper peels, where it penetrates to live skin, it will be treated as a medical procedure and performed as such. This is to properly monitor and control the treatment and achieve the desired results.

Intense Pulse Light or IPL for short, is a new light-based therapy which is changing acne treatment. However, it is recommended and has been proved most effective on people with moderate acne or scars. IPL works by destroying the most common bacteria that causes acne-and has no downtime.

The procedure is done by targeting the pigmented cells that are present in the acne scars. By pulsing the light in short but intense bursts, it destroys the dark, pigmented cells. After a couple of sessions of the treatment the dark spots caused by scarring are greatly reduced.

Afterwards, it is advised that you avoid direct contact with the sun in the treated area. To let the treatment, take full effect.
To learn more about each of these treatments, schedule a consultation with our clinic. Each of these treatments have specific requirements that take place to prep for the best possible outcome. To ensure that each of these treatments are successful, it is advised that you follow our instructions. We strive very hard to guarantee our clients satisfaction with any treatment that they choose. At De Vries Cosmetics Center, our licensed staff are trained to properly perform these treatments and meet Nevada’s legal requirements for safety
